Our Beliefs

At the core of everything we do is a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. The Selah Movement is built upon these unchanging biblical truths, guiding how we care for the body and honor the spirit.

Statement of Faith

The Holy Trinity: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came in the flesh, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and was physically resurrected on the third day.

Salvation by Grace: We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received entirely through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.

The Word of God: We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God—our ultimate truth and a daily lamp unto our feet.

Is This Yoga?

No. The Selah Movement is completely distinct from yoga.

We know that physical stretching, mat work, and mobility training can look similar on the surface, but our foundational purpose is entirely different. While our upcoming 1-on-1 movement coaching and classes incorporate low-impact resistance and deep core work to responsibly steward the physical body, we intentionally reject the roots, philosophies, and spiritual practices of yoga.

Instead of yoga, our movement practice is built entirely on Mat Pilates, dumbbell resistance training, and functional mobility. We intentionally chose Pilates because it originated purely as a secular, bio-mechanical discipline focused on posture, core stability, and physical rehabilitation—completely free of spiritual philosophies. We reject the spiritual roots and practices of yoga and choose instead to steward the physical body through evidence-based exercise science.

We believe that a Christian's movement practice should be entirely anchored in Christ. Here, your mat is a dedicated space to pause, breathe, and rest in His presence—combining physical movement with biblical reflection, scripture, and prayer.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

— Romans 10:9
