Our Story
Restoring balance to your body, mind, and spirit.
True wellness—and true movement—is about far more than just a workout, an intense sweat session, or a checklist of rules. It is about creating a lifestyle rooted in grace, rest, and intentionality. As a Registered Nurse, certified nutrition coach, and holistic lifestyle coach—currently pursuing advanced dual certification in Nurse Coaching and Holistic Nursing—I created The Selah Movement to be a sanctuary from the noise of a busy world. Here, we bridge the gap between evidence-based health education, everyday lifestyle habits, and faith.
Physical movement is a gentle, restorative part of that overall picture. As I finalize my Group Fitness Instructor certification and prepare to launch 1-on-1 movement coaching, I utilize mat Pilates principles, light resistance, and functional mobility work. Focused on biomechanics, spinal alignment, and deep core stability, these physical modalities allow us to safely strengthen and restore the body without any connection to Eastern spiritual philosophies. By combining low-impact movement with mindful breathing and nurse-led lifestyle coaching, my goal is to give you practical, gentle tools to slow down, listen to your body, and align with the wholeness God designed you for.
What is “Selah”?
The Hebrew word "Selah" (pronounced say-lah) is a beautiful invitation to pause. Found frequently throughout the Psalms, it is often understood as a musical or meditative term that calls us to stop, breathe, reflect, and weigh the truths we have just heard.
I chose this name because I have walked the path of burnout myself. During my years as a nurse, the weight of a fast-paced, demanding career left me feeling disconnected—I knew the medical side of health, but I had lost the ability to truly rest. Discovering the rhythm of "Selah" was my turning point. It taught me that I didn’t need to constantly grind in the name of productivity; I needed to pause. I realized that my value wasn't in how much I could accomplish, but in the wholeness I could cultivate by stopping to breathe.
My mission with Selah Movement is to help you integrate that pause into your daily life—to prayerfully reflect, listen to your body’s needs, and move with intentionality. It is more than just fitness; it is a discipline of becoming the best version of who God created you to be, honoring Him with your whole self—body, mind, and spirit.
“The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”
— Psalm 46:11
